 Powerslide had the vision to break with the traditional look of speed skating boots. We moulded clay around a simple steel last and started to take of material from the shell. The basic idea went through several stages. The final result was the SKELETON CONCEPT, which was introduced in 2003.
Race shoes featuring the Skeleton Concept have a unique shell construction. At this time from technical standpoint this technology could only be used with composite materials. The shell was cut out like a Swiss Cheese. Cutouts have been strategically placed to reduce weight and improve comfort and fit, which all transcends to greater product performance.
