I got these skates to replace my old speed skates, that ironically had SOFT slow wheels. I wanted to see how the higher heel, shorter narrower wheels, and harder wheels would affect my skating. The harder wheels made the biggest difference. More and faster roll, but much less grip. Next was the heel height. That took some getting used to, especially backwards. Lastly, high vs low boot. I will go low on my next skate. I liked my ankle to be free. This feels a bit constricted. Not bad at all, this is a comfy boot, but I prefer low. Lately I have gotten my legs into much better shape, upped my skating game, and have outgrown these skates. I want a taller wider wheel and to go back to a low boot with a low heel and a fast bearing. Speed is calling me. Don't get me wrong, these are good fun skates, and I can go pretty fast on them, its just I want a little more. If you are a bit more laid back and like the high heel/boot, I would recommend these skates.
