Love these skates

I did a lot of research and decided on these skates. The boots hurt at first but after about 5 hours of skating and the use of shoe stretchers they feel like I'm wearing sneakers.
I didn't like the wheels. I skated on the Fanjets (stock wheels) for a few laps then put my Radar Demons on. Changing the wheels improved my speed considerably. Could be personal preference. Don't let that stop you.
They came pretty well set up out of the box. I went to adjust the trucks and they were just about spot on. If you leave the stock wheels on you'll want to loosen them up a bit.
I don't want to knock other skates. I'll say this though...I had skates that cost about 20 bucks less and they would have been fine for a kid but not for an adult. They became flimsy pretty quickly but not the Labeda G80s. They remained solid feeling.
Bottom line is this...I love these skates and would recommend them to anyone that wants decent lower priced skates with leather boots. The only reason I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 is that I didn't like the wheels. If you do much skating this is not a lot of money to invest. Having your own skates beats renting. In fact I bought a set for my wife too.
Order them, break them in, and enjoy. There won't be flames coming off your wheels but if you're into speed skating you won't be buying $80 skates.

These are great entry level skates. The boot is outstanding and worth the price of the skates alone!!If youve been skating awhile and want a great pair of skates of your own this is a great starting point. You can easily upgrade these with some better wheels and bearings and have high end performance without the huge price.

I'm 35 and have been skating all my life but believe it or not never once had a decent pair of speed skates , I did lots of research before ordering this skate and ended up buying the knight Rider for not just me , but my Fiance also and this is the most comfortable skate I've ever skated in , The first night we went , I skated for about 5 hours pretty consistent and hard skating and left the rink with not one blister. The moister wicking liner does work and you can also wear the lower cut socks with these without getting a blister..!! The only thing I was expecting to be better out of the box was the bearings, I thought they would be a little faster being that they are Abec 9 , but I've only been in these 5 times and probably haven't broken them in , but I still did order Bone Swiss bearings that are coming in the mail , but i rate these skates a 9 out of 10 , you will not regret buying them guaranteed...!!!!!

Not Bad For The Money

I bought these skates just so I didn't have to rent skates every time I took my little girl skating. Night and day difference from the rentals. Sure, there are a ton of 'better' skates out there, but for the money these work just fine and I couldn't imagine getting better for the sub-hundred dollar price tag.
