Great for the price or for a starter set

I've been playing roller derby for the last six years, and I needed a cheap outdoor set of skates to save the wear and tear on my main skates. What I love about these is the room in the toes. Much wider than Riedells which makes them more comfortable right out of the box. These don't have speed straps or laces up around the ankle so that you can get tight ankle support. That's not a big deal with casual skating, but it will prevent you from getting more aggressive later on. I also would advise newer skaters to replace the wheels immediately. 96 hardness is way too slick for beginners. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase for my purpose, but if you're looking for your first derby skates, I'd really spring for the Riedell R3s. You won't outgrow them as quickly.
love mine

Have been wearing for almost a year. Wear them indoor and out. Ref for roller derby so they get a lot of use.
Not The Greatest

I was just starting out as fresh meat, and I was using someone else's reidels. This was my very first pair of skates that were my own. I odered them a size down because I am a woman, when they arrived they were almost 1 1/2 inches too big. Returned them got charged more money and after 3 weeks got a new pair. They are wobbly and painful. Also quite narrow. The laces are horrible and they cut into my ankle on turns. I have to say the only good thing about these skates were the berrings.....
pain in my butt

i bought these skates through my local rink just want to get my info out. i bought a pair of these skates when i received them. after one night of skating, after having them set up by a rink pro. i had stitching tear out down both sides of the laces. also the plastic plates twisted so much that the wheels actually came up and rubbed the plates and boots whering large marks into them. i returned the skates and had a new pair sent, and again the same problem with the laces had to restich them myself. watch out
Did't work for me

Maybe I got a dud but the eyelet the lace goes through came loose. The wheels are a little on the slick side and they were a bit narrow for me. They look great and are a great bang for the buck but I am going to try some Reidells and see how a leather boot works for me.
