I got these skates about 2 yrs ago. I bought 2 pairs one for me and one for my son and haven't had one problem with them and we skate 3 times a week on them. I'm getting ready to switch wheels and bearings just cause i want to no problem with what they come with just want something else. Had no problem with break in once i got them set where i wanted them. I replaced the toe stop with plugs cause i skate indoors and what i am used to. And no blisters or scars with mine.

I bought these with the derby starter pack; they are good starter skates, but the tongue rubs your ankle pretty badly and I have a scar on the front of my right one from this. They're pretty wide and tie tight but aren't super comfortable. The stem on the toe stops are very short; I switched out the originals for long-stem gumballs and have much better response. The included bearings are pretty bad; I switched them out for Bones Reds and traded the wheels for Atom Poisons and those trades all work out much better. These are definitely great to start out in, but once you are steady on your feet and learn more about the equipment you definitely want to start upgrading. I skate 2-3 times a week and have had them for 4 months and they barely feel broke in.

These were my first skates. I got them when i didn't know any better. I feel they are super heavy, a killer to break in and rub my feet in some pretty painful ways. I would not recommend these if you have flat feet or arch troubles.

I bought the Rebel Fugitive as my first skate. They've held up very well to about a years worth of skating both inside and outside. I agree that they take a bit to break in, I have some nice scars on the front of my ankles, especially my right foot, from the tongue rubbing. (I like my boots laced tight at the top) The one problem I have has to do with they upper four eyelets above the cinch strap; they're not metal! My laces have worn clean through the material and are now tearing into the boot. Sure Grip Customer Service told me they'd never heard of this problem before and the only thing they could do would be to replace the worn eyelets with the same thing. I'm trying to find a leather working store to insert some grommets for me. Other than they, I've loved learning how to skate on these. For the price they can't be beat.

It's a leather skate with a decent plate and decent wheels for well under $200. Personally I'd prefer the Rebel Invader package. At $150 or less, you won't get more skate for the money.
Other skates in this price range tend to come with wheels and/or plates you'd want to replace.
