The Riedell 172 Artistic/recreational boot is inspired by the old school boots that were extremely high cut. Similair to the 297's leather uppers, sherling tongue and leather soles. The leather used in this boot is designed to fold the boot down for the 70's look.

A retro boot that is soft like a slipper, there is no break in time required for this boot. A traditional tall boot height and wide capped toe box helps make sure this boot is comfortable. Leather uppers and linings with a shearling tongue all make this boot a must have.

nice boot...but...

These boots skate great, but the arches seem extra high and stiff. I'm gonna try some gel insoles to avoid more blisters.The boots are fantastic otherwise.

I'm a old school skater and my 1st pair was 172 riddel and they got stolen and finally got me another pair and they feel just like my old ones!!! So if your an old school skater this is the way to go.I'll rank them a 10 in my book!!! The original JB skate boot!!!!

Absolutely a must if you are a serious skater. If you are older and getting back into the skating scene make the investment. If for nothing else comfort and secure support. By far the best skate boot Ive ever owned. Besides, they have that back in the day-day coolness about them. Set it off right...scoop 'um up!!! You'll love them.
