Good skate for the $$
Johnny Crash (Prunedale Ca) 2/12/2016 1:18 PM
Got these to begin derby skating. Comfortable, handle well, and the wheels do excellent on outside concrete. I skate very hard and they are holding up ok. The boot is wearing down but that is to be expected without placing the appropriate protectors on them. The best thing about these are, they are Riedell, so you get their customer service as well. I had an issue with mine, shipped them off to Paul Riegleman at Riedell and the day after they received them, there was a solution to the problem. I couldnt have asked for better customer service.

great skates

these skates are pretty sweet. the wheels are a really hard and I would slip on gym floors. I would suggest maybe purchasing other wheels maybe hybrids till you get used to them. also the toe stops fell off in one of my practices, get the gumball toe stops their amazing. if your serious about skating it shouldn't be a prob to dish out a few extra bucks to get the skates how you want them especially if its going to help you out in the long run

great skates

I bought these skates for my first season of roller derby. I'm a heavy girl (270 lbs) and so far these skates are holding up well. My only complaints are 1. The wheels and bearings will have to be switched out. They're fine for training but if you really want to get some speed then change them. I skate on a coated rink floor that is very sticky and I still slide with these wheels. 2. I wish they came in wider sizes. I fixed that by skipping the eyelet where my foot is the widest. They fit great now. Before I did that, my toes were falling asleep! There are two girls on my team that have had these skates through 6 weeks of training and at least 1 season. I would recommend these skates to beginners/intermediates. They are wonderful!

Nice skates

I bought these for my son. An upgrade from his first pair of Pacers. He only rec skates at school and occasionally we drive 2 hrs. south to our nearest rink but he LOVES these skates. Right out of the box they are comfortable with very little break in. Quick Abec-5's let him go fast but not too fast. Great skate at a great price!

Rollergirl

I bought these skates in 2008 when I started roller derby. Almost five years later, I still practice three times a week and play in these same skates. I thought breaking these in would suck, but I never got one blister. I did get different wheels and bearings and changed the toe stop out for the gumballs, but everything else is holding up quite well. I definitely got my money worth out of these. I suppose it is time to upgrade but old habits are hard to break. :) I am a creature of habit.
